ABOUT THE PORTRAIT
April 26, 2026 marked the unveiling of the Founder’s Portrait — a defining work within the Perrimark Cultural Estate.
This piece introduces tne Founder’s identity, legacy, and cultural continuity as they feed into the estate. Rendered in a mosaic-inspired composition, the portrait draws from Non-western antiquity and Black American lineage while expressing a modern narrative of authorship, heritage, and self-definition.
This portrait is of Merri Christi Pemberton, the Founder of the Perrimark Cultural Estate. The Cultural Estate is her decades-long living body of work spanning films, books, art, and coffee heritage. This collection of culture-rich assets will evolve alongside the estate itself.
THE STORY
At its center is a quiet exchange: a gaze, a presence, a moment of recognition. The figure (Merri) adorned and composed, exists between stillness and movement — accompanied by a bird in flight, symbolizing vision, transformation, and the unfolding of something that was a long time in coming.
The gold-toned ground evokes permanence. The form evokes becoming.
Together, they mark a threshold being crossed.
A FOUNDATIONAL WORK
The Founder’s Portrait holds a singular place within the Founder’s Portrait Collection, part of Perrimark’s five art collections.
A limited number of collector editions from this portrait exist, reserved for private acquisition. The original work remains part of the permanent estate and will be held as a family-owned generational piece.
Other works from the broader Founder’s Collection will be made available in carefully limited editions, offered through the estate in alignment with its curatorial direction.

A LIVING COLLECTION
This unveiling marks the beginning.
The collection will continue to expand — through portrait studies, cultural compositions, and works that reflect the evolving language of the estate and its Founder’s living body of work across art, film, and lived experience.
Each release will be intentional. Each work will carry its own narrative. Each moment will build upon the last.
Welcome to the Unveiling.
