Tasting Coffee & Culture

Coffee, for us, is a ritual of culture, story, and inheritance. You are invited into this world.

Welcome to the Coffee Heritage of Perrimark Estate.

Perry D’Marco and fiancé Merri Christi (Perrimark Estate Owner) as Monica and Miguel Corteza in the drama series Corteza Gold (Youtube).

“We savor coffee the way we live: in love, blending cultures, and honoring what came before while creating something new.” ~Merri Christi, Perrimark Founder

Coffee isn’t just consumed -it’s shared, it’s conversation, it’s love. My fiancé and film partner Perry and I have woven our love for coffee in daily rituals, cinema, and now in these new tasting and exploration experiences…made for you.

Welcome

Welcome to the coffee room! Inspired by our passion for coffee and drama series Corteza Gold – a saga about a Black and Mexican family rising as a coffee dynasty – we are excited to bring the world of coffee exploration to you. You are invited to enjoy cozy, yet luxurious, experiences that we’ve created for you.

Featured Roaster

We appreciate local roasters and love sharing our experiences about them with you! We do these by purchasing from their beans for our virtual coffee connoisseur events. These events include virtual tastings and coffee and dessert pairings. We also spotlight roasters in our magazine Hacienda Brew periodically.

Coffee Tasting Journey – Mexico Chiapas Bourbon Coffee (2 Minute Sampler)

Some coffees carry more than flavor. They carry a story.

This is a cultural and sensory journey into one of the most extraordinary coffees we have explored at Perrimark Cultural Estate — a Mexico Chiapas bourbon barrel-aged coffee, grown by farmers of Mayan indigenous heritage and aged in American oak barrels by a renowned Southern California roaster.

This is not an SCA certified tasting course. This is something different — a cinematic, curatorial experience that places coffee where it belongs: inside its culture, its history, and its craft. Think of it as a museum exhibition you can taste.

Inside this journey:

A guided exploration of the cultural and historical roots of Chiapas coffee and its Mayan farming heritage.

Step-by-step French Press brewing with full sensory guidance — aroma, flavor notes, body, and finish.

A dessert and coffee pairing with culinary demonstration. A deep dive into roasting, origin, and craftsmanship.

Contextual storytelling that places every sip inside a larger world.

Each journey includes the full 16-minute tasting video, a digital issue of Hacienda Brew — the Estate’s own magazine for coffee connoisseurs and home café enthusiasts — and a bonus two-minute video exploring additional coffee beans grown in the Chiapas region.

This journey is available as a standalone experience or as part of the Tasting Room membership (scroll further below), which includes access to annual coffee tasting journeys and related Tasting Room member events throughout the year.
